Ross Receives Tax Fighter Award
WASHINGTON, D.C. –U.S. Rep. Dennis A. Ross (R-FL-15), Senior Deputy Majority Whip, and a member of the House Financial Services Committee today released the following statement after the National Tax-Limitation Committee (NTLC) presented him with the Tax Fighter Award.
NTLC was organized in 1975 and is one of the longest standing pro-taxpayer and entrepreneur organizations in America. NTLC analyzes fiscal voting records of United States Senators and Representatives at the conclusion of each Congress.
“I’m honored to receive the Tax Fighter Award. It is my duty to fight for sound policies that allow taxpayers to retain more of their hard earned money. My constituents and I are equally dissatisfied with this administration’s overspending and the floundering economic recovery. This is why I vote in accordance with legislation that provides more opportunities to the taxpayer, and strengthens economic opportunities here in Florida.
Not only have I kept my promise to reduce the spending of tax dollars for families and businesses in Bartow, Lakeland, Plant City, Brandon, Temple Terrace, and everywhere throughout my district, I’ve also given back over a quarter million dollars to the U.S. Treasury from my office budget. I do not misuse taxpayer dollars, and the federal government should follow this same tendency. I will continue to keep my promise and protect your tax dollars from misuse and unsustainable spending practices.”
“Congressman Ross has voted solidly with taxpayers in his district,” noted the NTLC President Lewis K. Uhler. “His fiscally sound voting record has earned NTLC’s coveted ‘Tax Fighter Award’.
